Tabla - the instrument which is used for giving rhythm to a song. This is a very old instrument. It is a pair of drums, the bigger rounded drum is called as 'Dagga' while smaller rounded is called as 'Tabla'. Both drums are placed beside one-another exactly as shown. Tabla is played with the fingers of hands, one hand on each of the pair of drums.
Tabla is widely used for the accompaniment in Classical Music, Film Music and also in Folk Music. The greatest tabla player known was Allah Rakha.
